Udupi : In the present situation of the society in the country, the mindset of people is that those who agree with the citizens of the country and other sides do not agree the same. It has been the problems of the two different mindsets of the people rather than not the problems between Hindus and Muslims, said Sashikanth Senthil, social activist and former IAS officer and former DC of Dakshina Kannada.
In his presidential speech during the Souharda Nadige-Sahabalve Convention programme held at Christian School grounds here on Saturday, May 14, which was organized by SahaBalve Udupi and other associations, he said country means people. It would right the people between different mindsets. Some people do not want brotherhood, love and for them it is not important. This society has been trying to control the people with fear and anxiety. But other people do not like that which does not need the conflict between the two mindsets of society. There should be love and brotherhood in the society. We do not celebrate Bharatiya. For 50 years, the idea of Bharatiya has been forgotten to celebrate as Bharatiya. It is not enough to give education to our children, but we need to give them the mentality of brotherhood and love, he said.
Earlier, the president of Sahabalve Amrith Shoney welcomed the gatherings. Yaseen Malpe spoke of the need to organize the convention. K. L. Ashok gave an introduction speech.
In his speech, the chief guest Yogendra Yadav, a well known national level social leader said that we will start spreading harmony right from Udupi where some of the creatures are trying to disturb harmony in the society. Some people are trying to divide the entire country. They are trying to create two classes of citizens like owners and tenants. But in reality, all are equal as per our national constitution. Some are trying to bulldozer our constitution.
Yadav said that Hindi is the national language. It is not. It is not mentioned in the Constitution. He said Kannada language is as old as thousands of years. Secularism means treating all religions equally. It is right to equality, right to culture, right to religion. Respect all religions each. He said Secularism is not a gift of the British, it is a gift of our constitution. Secularism is nothing but the religion of this country which existed for more than 5000 years. And it will remain forever, he said.
Various religious priests like Sri Gurubasava Pattadevaru, Udupi district Khazi Zionaul Uluma M Abdul Hameed Musliyar, Puttur Malankara Catholic Church Bishop Most Rev Vargeesh Mar Makariyus, Mysore Basavajnana Mandir head Dr. Mathe Basavanjali Devi, Sri Basava Prakash Swamiji of Belgaum Basava Mantap, Syeed Mohammed of Belgaum and Karnataka Jameeyathul Ulemahi Hind President Ifikhar Ahmed Kasmi were gave their messages.

Dr. Harbert M Vatson of Karnataka Theological College Principal, Karnataka state Darami Ulaima Okkuta Secretary Maulana U K Abdudl Azeem, Udupi diocese PRO Rev Fr. Chetan Lobo and Manipal Gurudwara priest Jnani Balaraj Singh gave their Sahabalve messages.

Prior to the convention, a huge procession, ‘Samarasya Nadige was held from Martyrs Memorial ground at Ajjarkad to Christian School grounds which passes through Jodukatte, Court Road, Diana Circle, KM Marg, Clock Tower, Kidiyoor Hotel, City Bus stand, service bus stand, Triveni circle, Diana Circle. Old taluk office and Mission Hospital, Various tableaus were displayed during the procession.

ಸಹ ಬಾಳ್ವೆ : ಇದು ಹಿಂದೂ ಮತ್ತು ಮುಸ್ಲಿಮರ ನಡುವಿನ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳಲ್ಲ, ಇದು ಎರಡು ವಿಭಿನ್ನ ಮನಸ್ಥಿತಿಯ ಜನರ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳು
ಉಡುಪಿ: ನಮ್ಮ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂದಿನ ಸಮಾಜದ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿ, ದೇಶದ ನಾಗರಿಕರನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ಇತರ ಕಡೆಯ ನಾಗರಿಕರನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪುವವರನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪುವುದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂಬ ಮನಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಜನರದ್ದು. ಇದು ಹಿಂದೂ-ಮುಸ್ಲಿಂರ ನಡುವಿನ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳಿಗಿಂತ ಎರಡು ವಿಭಿನ್ನ ಮನಸ್ಥಿತಿಯ ಜನರ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಯಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕರ್ತ ಮತ್ತು ಮಾಜಿ ಐಎಎಸ್ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿ ಮತ್ತು ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಕನ್ನಡದ ಮಾಜಿ ಡಿಸಿ ಶಶಿಕಾಂತ್ ಸೆಂಥಿಲ್ ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತ ಶಾಲಾ ಮೈದಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಶನಿವಾರ ಸಹಬಾಳ್ವೆ ಉಡುಪಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಇತರ ಸಂಘ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿದ್ದ ಸೌಹಾರ್ದ ನಾಡಿಗೆ-ಸಹಬಾಳ್ವೆ ಸಮಾವೇಶದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷೀಯ ಭಾಷಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು. ಇದು ವಿಭಿನ್ನ ಮನಸ್ಥಿತಿಗಳ ನಡುವಿನ ಜನರನ್ನು ಸರಿಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಕೆಲವರಿಗೆ ಸಹೋದರತ್ವ, ಪ್ರೀತಿ ಬೇಕಾಗಿಲ್ಲ ಮತ್ತು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಅದು ಮುಖ್ಯವಲ್ಲ. ಈ ಸಮಾಜವು ಜನರನ್ನು ಭಯ ಮತ್ತು ಆತಂಕದಿಂದ ನಿಯಂತ್ರಿಸಲು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಸಮಾಜದ ಎರಡು ಮನಸ್ಥಿತಿಗಳ ನಡುವಿನ ಸಂಘರ್ಷದ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲದದ್ದನ್ನು ಇತರ ಜನರು ಇಷ್ಟಪಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಸಮಾಜದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರೀತಿ, ಸಹೋದರತೆ ಇರಬೇಕು. ನಾವು ಭಾರತೀಯರನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. 50 ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಭಾರತೀಯರ ಕಲ್ಪನೆಯನ್ನು ಭಾರತೀಯ ಎಂದು ಆಚರಿಸಲು ಮರೆಯಲಾಗಿದೆ. ನಮ್ಮ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ನೀಡಿದರೆ ಸಾಲದು, ಬಂಧು-ಬಳಗದ ಮನೋಭಾವನೆಯನ್ನು ನೀಡಬೇಕು ಎಂದರು.
ಇದಕ್ಕೂ ಮುನ್ನ ಸಹಬಾಳ್ವೆಯ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಅಮೃತ ಶೆಣೈ ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿದರು. ಯಾಸೀನ್ ಮಲ್ಪೆ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ಸಮಾವೇಶವನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸುವ ಅಗತ್ಯ ಇತ್ತು ಎಂದರು. ಕೆ.ಎಲ್.ಅಶೋಕ್ ಪ್ರಾಸ್ತಾವಿಕ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು.
ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಮಟ್ಟದ ಸಮಾಜಮುಖಿ ಖ್ಯಾತರಾದ ಯೋಗೇಂದ್ರ ಯಾದವ್ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ಸಮಾಜದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಮರಸ್ಯ ಕದಡಲು ಕೆಲವು ಜೀವಿಗಳು ಯತ್ನಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಉಡುಪಿಯಿಂದಲೇ ಸೌಹಾರ್ದತೆಯನ್ನು ಪಸರಿಸಲು ಆರಂಭಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ ಎಂದರು. ಕೆಲವರು ಇಡೀ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಒಡೆಯಲು ಯತ್ನಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅವರು ಮಾಲೀಕರು ಮತ್ತು ಬಾಡಿಗೆದಾರರಂತಹ ಎರಡು ವರ್ಗದ ನಾಗರಿಕರನ್ನು ರಚಿಸಲು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಆದರೆ ವಾಸ್ತವದಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಸಂವಿಧಾನದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಸಮಾನರು. ಕೆಲವರು ನಮ್ಮ ಸಂವಿಧಾನವನ್ನು ಬುಲ್ಡೋಜರ್ ಮಾಡಲು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಹಿಂದಿ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರ ಭಾμÉ ಎಂದು ಯಾದವ್ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಆದರೆ ಇದು ನಿಜವಲ್ಲ ಈ ರೀತಿ ಸಂವಿಧಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ನಮೂದಿಸಿಲ್ಲ. ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾμÉ ಸಾವಿರಾರು ವರ್ಷಗಳಷ್ಟು ಹಳೆಯದು ಎಂದರು. ಸೆಕ್ಯುಲರಿಸಂ ಎಂದರೆ ಎಲ್ಲ ಧರ್ಮಗಳನ್ನು ಸಮಾನವಾಗಿ ಕಾಣುವುದು. ಇದು ಸಮಾನತೆಯ ಹಕ್ಕು, ಸಂಸ್ಕøತಿಯ ಹಕ್ಕು, ಧರ್ಮದ ಹಕ್ಕು. ಎಲ್ಲ ಧರ್ಮಗಳನ್ನು ಗೌರವಿಸಿ. ಸೆಕ್ಯುಲರಿಸಂ ಬ್ರಿಟಿಷರ ಕೊಡುಗೆಯಲ್ಲ, ಅದು ನಮ್ಮ ಸಂವಿಧಾನದ ಕೊಡುಗೆ ಎಂದರು. ಸೆಕ್ಯುಲರಿಸಂ ಎಂಬುದು 5000 ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಗೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಕಾಲ ಅಸ್ತಿತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಈ ದೇಶದ ಧರ್ಮವೇ ಹೊರತು ಬೇರೇನೂ ಅಲ್ಲ. ಮತ್ತು ಅದು ಶಾಶ್ವತವಾಗಿ ಉಳಿಯುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ವಿವಿಧ ಧರ್ಮಗುರುಗಳಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಗುರುಬಸವ ಪಟ್ಟದ್ದೇವರು, ಉಡುಪಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಖಾಝಿ ಝಿಯೋನಾಲ್ ಉಲುಮಾ ಎಂ ಅಬ್ದುಲ್ ಹಮೀದ್ ಮುಸ್ಲಿಯಾರ್, ಪುತ್ತೂರು ಮಲಂಕರ ಕೆಥೋಲಿಕ್ ಚರ್ಚ್ ಬಿಷಪ್ ಮೋಸ್ಟ್ ರೆ.ವರ್ಗೀಸ್ ಮಾರ್ ಮಕರಿಯಸ್, ಮೈಸೂರು ಬಸವಜ್ಞಾನ ಮಂದಿರದ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥ ಡಾ.ಮಠೆ ಬಸವಾಂಜಲಿ ದೇವಿ, ಬೆಳಗಾವಿಯ ಶ್ರೀ ಬಸವ ಪ್ರಕಾಶ ಸ್ವಾಮೀಜಿ, ಬೆಳಗಾವಿಯ ಬಸವ ಮನ್ತ್ ಮೊಪಮ್ಮದ್ ಬಸವ ಮಂದ್ ಮೊ. ಬೆಳಗಾವಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಜಮೀಯತುಲ್ ಉಲಮಾಹಿ ಹಿಂದ್ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಇಫಿಕರ್ ಅಹ್ಮದ್ ಕಾಸ್ಮಿ ಸಂದೇಶ ನೀಡಿದರು.
ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸುನ್ನೀ ಯುವಜನ ಸಂಘದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಡಾ.ಅಬ್ದುಲ್ ರಶೀದ್ ಸಕಾಫಿ, ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಥಿಯೋಲಾಜಿಕಲ್ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರಾದ ವಂ.ಡಾ.ಹಾರ್ಬರ್ಟ್ ಎಂ ವ್ಯಾಟ್ಸನ್, ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯ ದಾರಾಮಿ ಉಲೈಮಾ ಒಕ್ಕೂಟದ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಮೌಲಾನಾ ಯು ಕೆ ಅಬ್ದುಲ್ ಅಜೀಂ, ಉಡುಪಿ ಧರ್ಮಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯದ ಪಿಆರ್‍ಒ ರೆ.ಫಾ. ಚೇತನ್ ಲೋಬೋ ಹಾಗೂ ಮಣಿಪಾಲ ಗುರುದ್ವಾರದ ಅರ್ಚಕ ಜ್ಞಾನಿ ಬಾಲರಾಜ್ ಸಿಂಗ್ ಸಹಬಾಳ್ವೆ ಸಂದೇಶ ನೀಡಿದರು.
ವೆರೋನಿಕಾ ಕಾರ್ನೆಲಿಯೊ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ನಿರೂಪಿಸಿದರು. ಸಮಾವೇಶಕ್ಕೂ ಮುನ್ನ ಅಜ್ಜರಕಾಡಿನ ಹುತಾತ್ಮರ ಸ್ಮಾರಕ ಮೈದಾನದಿಂದ ಜೋಡುಕಟ್ಟೆ, ಕೋರ್ಟ್ ರಸ್ತೆ, ಡಯಾನಾ ವೃತ್ತ, ಕೆ.ಎಂ.ಮಾರ್ಗ, ಕ್ಲಾಕ್ ಟವರ್, ಕಿದಿಯೂರು ಹೊಟೇಲ್, ಸಿಟಿ ಬಸ್ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣ, ಹಳೆ ತಾಲೂಕು ಕಚೇರಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಮಿಷನ್ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆ, ಸರ್ವಿಸ್ ಬಸ್ ಮೂಲಕ ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತ ಶಾಲೆ ಮೈದಾನದವರೆಗೆ ಬೃಹತ್ ಮೆರವಣಿಗೆ ನಡೆಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಈಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿವಿಧ ರೀತಿಯ ಟ್ಯಾಬ್ಲೊಗಳನ್ನು ಮೆರವಣಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
