2025 ರ ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್ 19 ರ ಶನಿವಾರ ಸಂಜೆ 7.00 ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ಚರ್ಚ್‌ನ ಪೋರ್ಟಿಕೋದಲ್ಲಿ ಈಸ್ಟರ್ ಮೇಣದಬತ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಬೆಳಗಿಸುವುದರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಬಹುನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿತ ಈಸ್ಟರ್ ಜಾಗರಣೆ ಸೇವೆಯು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಯಿತು. ಪ್ಯಾರಿಷ್ ಪಾದ್ರಿ ರೆವರೆಂಡ್ ಡಾ. ರೋಕ್ ಡಿಸೋಜಾ, ಸಹಾಯಕ ಪ್ಯಾರಿಷ್ ಪಾದ್ರಿ ರೆವರೆಂಡ್ ಫಾದರ್ ಆಲಿವರ್ ನಜರೆತ್ ಮತ್ತು ಅತಿಥಿ ಪಾದ್ರಿ ರೆವರೆಂಡ್ ಫಾದರ್ ಇವಾನ್ ಮಾಡ್ತಾ, ಫಾದರ್ ರೋಡ್ರಿಗಸ್ ಮತ್ತು ರೆವರೆಂಡ್ ಫಾದರ್ ಸ್ಟೀವನ್ ಫೆರ್ನಾಂಡಿಸ್ ಅವರ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪ್ಯಾರಿಷಿಯನ್ನರ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಲ್ಲಿ ಈಸ್ಟರ್ ಜಾಗರಣೆಯು ಯೇಸು ಸಮಾಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ದಿನವನ್ನು ಕಳೆದರು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಯೇಸು ಸಮಾಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ದಿನವನ್ನು ಅವರು ಕಳೆದರು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಯೇಸು ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ನಾವು ಜಗತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಏನನ್ನು ಕಳೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇವೆ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿಬಿಂಬಿಸಲು ಇದು ಒಂದು ಅವಕಾಶವಾಗಿತ್ತು…!
ಸೂಕ್ತವಾದ ಪರಿಚಯದಲ್ಲಿ, ‘ಇದು ವರ್ಷದ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಪವಿತ್ರ ರಾತ್ರಿ – ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜಾಗರಣೆಗಳ ತಾಯಿಯಾದ ಈಸ್ಟರ್ ಜಾಗರಣೆ, ಪವಿತ್ರ ಚರ್ಚ್ ಕಾವಲು ಕಾಯುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ, ನಮ್ಮ ಕರ್ತನಾದ ಯೇಸು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ಪುನರುತ್ಥಾನವನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಸಮಾಧಿಯ ದುಃಖ ಮತ್ತು ಮೌನದ ನಂತರ, ಬೆಳಕು ಕತ್ತಲೆಯನ್ನು ಭೇದಿಸಿದಂತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಜೀವನವು ಸಾವಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಜಯಗಳಿಸುವಂತೆ ನಾವು ಈಗ ಸಂತೋಷದ ಭರವಸೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಟ್ಟುಗೂಡುತ್ತೇವೆ’ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ಬೆಂಕಿ, ಧೂಪದ್ರವ್ಯ ಇತ್ಯಾದಿಗಳನ್ನು ಆಶೀರ್ವದಿಸಿದ ನಂತರ, ಪವಿತ್ರ ಮತ್ತು ಅಲಂಕರಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಪ್ಯಾಸ್ಕಲ್ ಮೇಣದಬತ್ತಿಯನ್ನು, ಅಂದರೆ ಪ್ರಪಂಚದ ಬೆಳಕನ್ನು, ಚರ್ಚ್ ಒಳಗೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ, ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ಸಮಾಧಿಯಿಂದ ಎದ್ದ ಸಂಕೇತವಾಗಿ, ರೆವರೆಂಡ್ ಫಾದರ್ ಇವಾನ್ ಮಾಡ್ತಾ ಅವರು ಈಸ್ಟರ್ ಘೋಷಣೆಯ ಹಾಡನ್ನು ಹಾಡಿದರು, ನಂತರ ಧರ್ಮಗ್ರಂಥಗಳು, ಹಳೆಯ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯಿಂದ ನಾಲ್ಕು ವಾಚನಗಳು – ಜೆನೆಸಿಸ್, ಎಕ್ಸೋಡಸ್, ಪ್ರವಾದಿ ಯೆಶಾಯ ಮತ್ತು ಎಝೆಕಿಯೆಲ್, ಗಾಯಕರ ಗುಂಪಿನಿಂದ ಸುಮಧುರ ಕೀರ್ತನೆಗಳಿಂದ ಉತ್ತಮವಾಗಿ ಬೆಂಬಲಿತವಾಗಿದೆ…
‘ಅತ್ಯುನ್ನತವಾದ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಮಹಿಮೆ’ ಮತ್ತು ಘಂಟೆಗಳ ಶಬ್ದವು ಇಡೀ ಚರ್ಚ್ ಅನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿಧ್ವನಿಸಿತು ಮತ್ತು ಸೇಂಟ್ ಪೌಲ್ ಅವರ ಪತ್ರದ ಓದು ಮತ್ತು ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಸತ್ತವರ ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ಪುನರುತ್ಥಾನವನ್ನು ಘೋಷಿಸುವ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಸುವಾರ್ತೆಯ ಸಾರಗಳನ್ನು ರೆವರೆಂಡ್ ಡಾ. ರೋಕ್ ಡಿಸೋಜಾ ಹಾಡಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಭ್ರಮಾಚರಣೆದಾರರು ಎದ್ದ ಭಗವಂತನ ಸುಂದರವಾಗಿ ಅಲಂಕರಿಸಿದ ಪ್ರತಿಮೆಯನ್ನು ಅನಾವರಣಗೊಳಿಸಿದರು…
ಮತ್ತೊಮ್ಮೆ ರೆವರೆಂಡ್ ಫಾದರ್ ಇವಾನ್ ಮಾಡ್ತಾ ಅವರು ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾ, ‘ಇಂದು ರಾತ್ರಿ, ನಾವು ಕತ್ತಲೆಯಿಂದ ಬೆಳಕಿಗೆ, ಪಾಪದ ಮರಣದಿಂದ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ಅದ್ಭುತ ಬೆಳಕಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಪುನರುತ್ಥಾನಗೊಂಡ ಭಗವಂತನ ಸಂಕೇತವಾದ ಪಾಸ್ಚಲ್ ಮೇಣದಬತ್ತಿಯು ಈ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕರೆದೊಯ್ಯುತ್ತದೆ – ಪ್ರಾಚೀನ ಚಿಹ್ನೆಗಳು, ಧರ್ಮಗ್ರಂಥಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ನಾವು ಹಾಡಲು ಹಾತೊರೆಯುವ ಸಂತೋಷದಾಯಕ ಅಲ್ಲೆಲುಯಾದಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿದೆ. ನಾವು ಸಂರಕ್ಷಕನ ಪುನರುತ್ಥಾನದೊಂದಿಗೆ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು, ಆಗ ಮಾತ್ರ ನಾವು ಅದನ್ನು ಅರ್ಥಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇವೆ …’ ಅವರು ಉದಾಹರಣೆಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ವಿವರಿಸಿದರು.
‘ಸ್ವರ್ಗವು ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು ಮುಟ್ಟುವ ಮತ್ತು ಸಮಯವು ಶಾಶ್ವತತೆಯನ್ನು ಸಂಧಿಸುವ ಈ ಕೃಪೆಯ ರಾತ್ರಿಗೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಹೃದಯಗಳನ್ನು ತೆರೆಯೋಣ. ಪುನರುತ್ಥಾನಗೊಂಡ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ಬೆಳಕು ಅನುಮಾನ, ಭಯ ಮತ್ತು ಹತಾಶೆಯ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ನೆರಳನ್ನು ಹೋಗಲಾಡಿಸಲಿ – ಮತ್ತು ಹೊಸ ಜೀವನದ ಭರವಸೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂತೋಷದಿಂದ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತುಂಬಲಿ …’ ಧರ್ಮೋಪದೇಶವನ್ನು ಮುಕ್ತಾಯಗೊಳಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಫಾದರ್ ಮಾಡ್ತಾ ಹೇಳಿದರು, ‘ಯೇಸು ಮಾಡಿದಂತೆ ನಾವು ಪವಾಡಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡದಿರಬಹುದು, ಆದಾಗ್ಯೂ, ಒಂಟಿತನ ಮತ್ತು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವರ ಕಣ್ಣೀರನ್ನು ಒರೆಸಬಹುದು, ಸಹಾಯ ಹಸ್ತ ಚಾಚಬಹುದು, ದುಃಖವನ್ನು ಆಲಿಸಬಹುದು ಮತ್ತು ದಯೆಯ ಮಾತುಗಳಿಂದ ಸಾಂತ್ವನ ಹೇಳಬಹುದು – ಆ ಮೂಲಕ ನಮ್ಮ ನೆರೆಹೊರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪುನರುತ್ಥಾನಗೊಂಡ ಭಗವಂತನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಎದ್ದೇಳಬಹುದು..’
ಮುಂದಿನ ಮೂರನೇ ಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ, ರೆವರೆಂಡ್ ಫಾದರ್ ಆಲಿವರ್ ನಜರೆತ್ ಬ್ಯಾಪ್ಟಿಸಮ್ ಪ್ರತಿಜ್ಞೆ ನವೀಕರಣವನ್ನು ಮುನ್ನಡೆಸಿದರು, ಪವಿತ್ರ ನೀರನ್ನು ಆಶೀರ್ವದಿಸಲಾಯಿತು ಮತ್ತು ನಿಷ್ಠಾವಂತರ ಮೇಲೆ ಚಿಮುಕಿಸಲಾಯಿತು ಮತ್ತು ಪವಿತ್ರ ಯೂಕರಿಸ್ಟಿಕ್ ತ್ಯಾಗವನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ಪವಿತ್ರ ಬಲಿಪೂಜೆ ಮುಂದುವರಿದಂತೆ, ಸಭೆಯು ಪವಿತ್ರ ಆಚರಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಕ್ರಿಯವಾಗಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿತು, ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಗ್ಗಟ್ಟಾಯಿತು ಮತ್ತು ಪುನರುತ್ಥಾನದ ಶಕ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನವೀಕೃತವಾಯಿತು. ಗಂಭೀರವಾದ ಹಬ್ಬದ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಬಲಿಪೂಜೆಯನ್ನು ಮುಖ್ಯ ಆಚರಣೆಯಾಗಿ ರೆವರೆಂಡ್ ಫಾದರ್ ಸ್ಟೀವನ್ ಫೆರ್ನಾಂಡಿಸ್ ಮತ್ತು ವಿಕಾರ್ ರೆವರೆಂಡ್ ಡಾ. ರೋಕ್ ಡಿಸೋಜಾ, ಸಹಾಯಕ ಫಾದರ್ ಆಲಿವರ್ ನಜರೆತ್, ಅತಿಥಿ ಪುರೋಹಿತರು – ಫಾದರ್ ಇವಾನ್ ಮಾಡ್ತಾ ಮತ್ತು ನಿವೃತ್ತ ಪಾದ್ರಿ ಫಾದರ್ ರೋಡ್ರಿಗಸ್ ಅವರು ಆಚರಿಸಿದರು, ಅವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಅಲಂಕರಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಬಲಿಪೀಠದ ಮೇಲೆ.
ಭೂಮಿಯು ಶಾಂತ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪುನರುತ್ಥಾನಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಕಾಯುತ್ತಿದೆ, ಸಂಕ್ಷಿಪ್ತವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುವುದಾದರೆ, ಯೇಸುಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ಶಿಲುಬೆಗೇರಿಸಿದ ನಂತರ, ಪುನರುತ್ಥಾನ ಎಂದು ಕರೆಯಲ್ಪಡುವ ಅವನ ಜೀವನಕ್ಕೆ ಮರಳುವಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ನಾವು ಆಚರಿಸುವಾಗ ಈಸ್ಟರ್ ವರ್ಷದ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಹಬ್ಬವಾಗಿದೆ. ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ, ಅವನ ಮರಣದ ಎರಡು ದಿನಗಳ ನಂತರ, ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಸಮಾಧಿ ಖಾಲಿಯಾಗಿತ್ತು ಮತ್ತು ಶೀಘ್ರದಲ್ಲೇ ಅವನ ಅನುಯಾಯಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಅಪೊಸ್ತಲರು ಅವನನ್ನು ನೋಡಲು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದರು ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡಲು ಮತ್ತು ಊಟ ಮಾಡಲು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದರು ಎಂದು ಸುವಾರ್ತೆಗಳು ನಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸುತ್ತವೆ. ಯೇಸು ಸಮಾಧಿಯಿಂದ ಎದ್ದೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ ಎಂದರೆ, ನಾವು ಸಹ ಮರಣದ ನಂತರ ಹೊಸ ಜೀವನವನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯಬಹುದು ಎಂದು ನಾವು ನಂಬುತ್ತೇವೆ.ಭವ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಅರ್ಥಪೂರ್ಣ ಈಸ್ಟರ್ ಆಚರಣೆಯನ್ನು ಮುಕ್ತಾಯಗೊಳಿಸಲು, ಪ್ಯಾರಿಷ್ ಪಾದ್ರಿ ರೆವರೆಂಡ್ ಡಾ. ರೋಕ್ ಡಿಸೋಜಾ, ಇಡೀ ಪ್ಯಾರಿಷ್ ಕುಟುಂಬಕ್ಕೆ ಹಬ್ಬದ ಶುಭಾಶಯಗಳನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು – ಹಾಜರಿದ್ದ ಮತ್ತು ಮನೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸೇವೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಮತ್ತು ಬೇರೆಡೆ ನೆಲೆಸಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪ್ಯಾರಿಷ್‌ಗಳಿಗೆ. ಅವರು ಈ ಅವಕಾಶವನ್ನು ಪಡೆದುಕೊಂಡರು – ನಾಯಕರು ಮತ್ತು ಸದಸ್ಯರು – ಪ್ಯಾರಿಷ್ ಪಾಸ್ಟೋರಲ್ ಕೌನ್ಸಿಲ್, ಗುರ್ಕರ್‌ಗಳು, ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳು, ಗಾಯಕರ ತಂಡ, ವಿವಿಧ ಆಯೋಗಗಳು ಅಥವಾ ಅಯೋಗ್‌ಗಳು, ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯ ಉಸ್ತುವಾರಿ ವಹಿಸಿರುವ ತಂಡ, ಬಲಿಪೀಠದ ಹುಡುಗರು …… ಇತ್ಯಾದಿ ಮತ್ತು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪ್ಯಾರಿಷಿಯನ್ನರು ಮತ್ತು ದಾನಿಗಳು ತಮ್ಮ ಕೊಡುಗೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಹಕಾರಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಸಂತೋಷ ಮತ್ತು ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆಯನ್ನು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.
ಮೂರು ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಒಳನೋಟವುಳ್ಳ ಧರ್ಮೋಪದೇಶದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಪವಿತ್ರ ತ್ರಿಡಮ್ ಅನ್ನು ಶ್ರೀಮಂತಗೊಳಿಸಿದ್ದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಫಾದರ್ ಇವಾನ್ ಮಾಡ್ತಾ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಮತ್ತು ಈ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಆಚರಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಫಾದರ್ ಸ್ಟೀವನ್ ಉಪಯುಕ್ತ ಸಹಾಯ ಹಸ್ತವನ್ನು ನೀಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಫಾದರ್ ಇವಾನ್ ಮಾಡ್ತಾ ಅವರಿಗೆ ವಿಕಾರ್ ವಿಶೇಷ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು… ಹಾಜರಿದ್ದ ಪಾದ್ರಿಗಳ ಪರವಾಗಿ, ಮುಖ್ಯ ಆಚರಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಫಾದರ್ ಸ್ಟೀವನ್ ಪಾದ್ರಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಹಾಜರಿದ್ದ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಈಸ್ಟರ್ ಶುಭಾಶಯಗಳನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
ಮೌಂಟ್ ರೋಸರಿ ಚರ್ಚ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಂದರ ಮತ್ತು ಉತ್ತಮ ಹಾಜರಾತಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ನಡೆದ ಪವಿತ್ರ ವಾರದ ಆಚರಣೆಯು ರಾತ್ರಿ 9.15 ರ ಸುಮಾರಿಗೆ ಈಸ್ಟರ್‌ನ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಸಾಮೂಹಿಕ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಅಧಿಕೃತವಾಗಿ ಮುಕ್ತಾಯಗೊಂಡಿತು, ಹಾಜರಿದ್ದ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಬೆಚ್ಚಗಿನ ತಿಂಡಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ತಂಪು ಪಾನೀಯಗಳನ್ನು ಬಡಿಸಲಾಯಿತು, ICYM ಮತ್ತು YCS ಸದಸ್ಯರು ಉದಾರವಾಗಿ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಉತ್ತಮವಾಗಿ ವಿತರಿಸಿದರು.
Grand Easter vigil celebrations at,Mount Rosary Church, Santhekatte – Kallianpur
The most awaited Easter vigil service was begun at 7.00 pm, sharp on Saturday, 19th April, 2025, with the lighting of the Easter Candle in the portico of the Church, in the presence of all parishioners, led by the parish priest Rev Dr Roque DSouza together with Asst parish priest Rev Fr Oliver Nazareth and guest priest Rev Fr Ivan Madtha, Fr Rodrigues and Rev Fr Steevan Fernandes the main celebrant of the Easter Vigil spent the Holy Saturday, the day Jesus was in the tomb, as it was an opportunity to reflect on what we would miss in a world, without Him….!
In a fitting introduction, ‘this is the most sacred night of the year — the Easter Vigil, the mother of all vigils, when Holy Church keeps watch, celebrating the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ from the dead. After the sorrow and silence of the tomb, we now gather in joyful hope, as light pierces the darkness, and life triumphs over death’, it was informed.
After blessing the fire, frankincense etc the Blessed and decorated Pascal Candle, the Light of the World, was taken inside the Church as a symbol of Christ’s rising from the tomb and the song of Easter Proclamation was sung by Rev Fr Ivan Madtha, followed by scriptures, four readings from Old Testament – Genesis, Exodus, Prophet Isaiah, and Ezekiel, well supported by melodious psalms’ by Choir group…
‘Glory to God in the Highest’ and chiming of bells echoed the whole Church and the extracts from the St Pauls letter readout, and Holy Gospel to declare the historical resurrection of Jesus from the dead was sung by Rev Dr Roque DSouza and the well decorated statue of risen Lord unveiled by the celebrants…
Once again Rev Fr Ivan Madtha, while breaking the word of God, said, ’tonight, we journey from darkness into light, from the death of sin into the glorious light of Christ. The Paschal candle, a symbol of the Risen Lord, will lead us through this holy liturgy — filled with ancient symbols, scripture, and the joyful Alleluia we have longed to sing. We have to relate ourselves with resurrection of Saviour then only we will understand it…’ he explained with examples.
‘Let us open our hearts to this night of grace, where heaven touches earth, and time meets eternity. May the light of the Risen Christ dispel every shadow of doubt, fear, and despair — and fill us with the hope and joy of new life…’ While concluding the homily Fr Madtha stated, ‘ we may not perform miracles like Jesus did, however, can wipe out tears from lonely and rejected, extend an helping hand, listen to suffering and console with kind words – thereby rise with risen Lord in our neighbourhood..’
In the followed third part of the ceremonies, Rev Fr Oliver Nazareth led the baptismal vows renewal, the holy water was blessed and sprinkled on the faithful and the Holy Eucharistic sacrifice was offered.
As the Holy Mass continued, the congregation actively involved and participated in the holy celebration, united in faith, and renewed in the power of the Resurrection. The solemn festal Holy Mass was celebrated by Rev Fr Steevan Fernandes as the main celebrant and Vicar Rev Dr Roque DSouza, Assistant Fr Oliver Nazareth, Guest priests – Fr Ivan Madtha and retired priest Fr Rodrigues, accompanying him on the well decorated altar.
Rightly it is in stillness the Earth awaits the Resurrection, in brief, the Easter is the most important festival of the year as we celebrate the return to life of Jesus Christ, after His Crucifixion, generally known as the Resurrection. The Gospels inform us that on the morning, two days after His death Jesus tomb found empty and soon his followers and Apostles, not only began to see Him but also talk and dine with Him. We believe that Jesus rising from the tomb means, we too can receive new life after death.
To wind up the grand and meaningful Easter celebration, the Parish Priest Rev Dr Roque DSouza, extended festal greetings to the entire parish family – to all the parishioners, present and at homes and serving and settled elsewhere. He took the opportunity to express his happiness and gratefulness to all – the leaders and members – Parish Pastoral Council, Gurkars, all pious organisations, the Choir team, various commissions or ayogs, especially team in in-charge of Liturgy, the altar boys……etc and all the parishioners and donors for their contribution and cooperation.
Vicar had special gratitude’s to Fr Ivan Madtha for enriching the Holy Tridum with his insightful preaching’s on all the three days and Fr Steevan extending a useful helping hand in these days especially offering today’s High Mass as main celebrant…On behalf of the priests present, the main celebrant Fr Steevan extended Easter greetings to clergy and all present.
Beautiful and well attended Holy week observation in the Mount Rosary Church were officially concluded with Holy Mass of Easter vigil around 9.15 pm with the serving of warm snacks and cold-drinks to all present, generously arranged and well distributed by the members of ICYM & YCS.
