ದೋರ್ನಹಳ್ಳಿ, ಮೈಸೂರು: ದೋರ್ನಹಳ್ಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಜಾಗತಿಕವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧವಾದ ಸಂತ ಅಂತೋನಿಯ ಬೆಸಿಲಿಕಾ ಜೂನ್ 13, 2025 ರ ಶುಕ್ರವಾರದಂದು ಅದ್ಭುತ ಪವಾಡ ಪುರುಷ ಸಂತ ಅಂತೋನಿಯ ವಾರ್ಷಿಕ ಹಬ್ಬವನ್ನು ಅಪಾರ ಭಕ್ತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಆಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮಿಕ ವೈಭವದಿಂದ ಆಚರಿಸಲು ಸಿದ್ಧತೆ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿದೆ.
ಜೂನ್ 4, 2025 ರ ಬುಧವಾರ ಸಂಜೆ 5:30 ಕ್ಕೆ ಧ್ವಜಾರೋಹಣ ಸಮಾರಂಭದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಆಚರಣೆಗಳು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಗಲಿದ್ದು, ಮೈಸೂರು ಡಯಾಸಿಸ್‌ನ ಆರ್ಚ್‌ಬಿಷಪ್ ಎಮೆರಿಟಸ್ ಮತ್ತು ಅಪೋಸ್ಟೋಲಿಕ್ ಆಡಳಿತಾಧಿಕಾರಿ ಅತಿ ವಂದನೀಯ ಡಾ. ಬರ್ನಾರ್ಡ್ ಮೊರಾಸ್ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯಲಿದೆ. ನೊವೆನಾ ದಿನಗಳ ಆರಂಭವನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸುವ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಯೂಕರಿಸ್ಟಿಕ್ ಬಲಿದಾನ ನಡೆಯಲಿದೆ.
ಜೂನ್ 5 ರಿಂದ ಜೂನ್ 12 ರವರೆಗೆ, ದೈನಂದಿನ ನೊವೆನಾ ಬಲಿದಾನಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಧರ್ಮೋಪದೇಶ ನಡೆಯಲಿದೆ, ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ 7:00 ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷ್ ಬಲಿದಾನ ಮತ್ತು ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ 11:00 ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಜೆ 5:30 ಕ್ಕೆ ಕನ್ನಡ ಬಲಿದಾನಗಳು ನಡೆಯಲಿವೆ. ಈ ದಿನಗಳು ಆಳವಾದ ಚಿಂತನೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಿದ್ಧತೆಯ ಸಮಯವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಯಾತ್ರಿಕರನ್ನು ಅನುಗ್ರಹ ಮತ್ತು ನವೀಕರಣದ ಆಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮಿಕ ವಾತಾವರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಸೆಳೆಯುತ್ತವೆ.
ಆಚರಣೆಗಳ ಆಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮಿಕ ಶಿಖರವು ಜೂನ್ 13, ಶುಕ್ರವಾರ ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ 10:00 ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಗಂಭೀರ ಹಬ್ಬದ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಬಲಿದಾನ ನಡೆಯಲಿದೆ, ಇದನ್ನು ಮತ್ತೊಮ್ಮೆ ಅತಿ ವಂದನೀಯ ಡಾ. ಬರ್ನಾರ್ಡ್ ಮೊರಾಸ್ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆ ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ದಿನವಿಡೀ, ಕನ್ನಡ, ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷ್ ಮತ್ತು ತಮಿಳು ಭಾಷೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚುವರಿ ಬಲಿದಾನಗಳನ್ನು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು, ಇದು ವಿವಿಧ ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಭಾಷಾ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯ ಭಕ್ತರಿಗೆ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಲು ಮತ್ತು ಪಡುವಾದ ಸಂತ ಅಂತೋನಿಯ ಪ್ರಬಲ ಮಧ್ಯಸ್ಥಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಲು ಅನುವು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಡುತ್ತದೆ.
ಈ ಸುಂದರ ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯವು ಕೇವಲ ಆಚರಣೆಯಲ್ಲ ಆದರೆ 220 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾದ ಪ್ರಬಲ ಆಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮಿಕ ಪರಂಪರೆಯ ಮುಂದುವರಿಕೆಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಇತಿಹಾಸದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ಒಬ್ಬ ರೈತ ದೋರ್ನಹಳ್ಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನ ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು ಉಳುಮೆ ಮಾಡುವಾಗ ಮರದ ಪ್ರತಿಮೆಯನ್ನು ಕಂಡುಕೊಂಡನು. ಈ ಪ್ರತಿಮೆಯನ್ನು ಶೀಘ್ರದಲ್ಲೇ ಸಂತ ಅಂತೋನಿ ಎಂದು ಗುರುತಿಸಲಾಯಿತು, ಮತ್ತು ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಿಂದ ಬಂದ ಅನೇಕರು ಪವಾಡಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ದೈವಿಕ ಅನುಗ್ರಹಗಳನ್ನು ವೀಕ್ಷಿಸಲು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದರು. ಸುದ್ದಿ ವೇಗವಾಗಿ ಹರಡಿತು ಮತ್ತು ದೋರ್ನಹಳ್ಳಿ ಸಾವಿರಾರು ಭಕ್ತರಿಗೆ ಪವಿತ್ರ ತಾಣವಾಯಿತು.
ಈ ಬೆಳೆಯುತ್ತಿರುವ ಭಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಬೆಂಬಲಿಸಲು, ಫಾದರ್. ಆ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ಯಾರಿಷ್ ಧರ್ಮಗುರುವಾಗಿದ್ದ ಎಸ್. ಡಿ’ಸಿಲ್ವಾ, 1920 ರಲ್ಲಿ ಮೈಸೂರು ಅರಮನೆಯ ದಿವಾನರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ತಂಬು ಚೆಟ್ಟಿ ಮತ್ತು ಅವರ ಸಹೋದರ ಶ್ರೀ ಧರ್ಮರಾಜ್ ಚೆಟ್ಟಿ ಅವರ ಉದಾರ ಬೆಂಬಲದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಒಂದು ಸಣ್ಣ ದೇವಾಲಯವನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿದರು. ಯಾತ್ರಿಕರ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾದಂತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪವಾಡದ ಅನುಭವಗಳು ಹೆಚ್ಚಾದಂತೆ, ದೊಡ್ಡ ಚರ್ಚ್‌ನ ಅಗತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. 1964 ರಲ್ಲಿ, ಫಾದರ್ ಐ. ಹೆಚ್. ಲೋಬೊ ಅವರ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ, ಹೊಸ ಚರ್ಚ್‌ನ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಯಿತು. ಇದನ್ನು ಜೂನ್ 13, 1969 ರಂದು ಮೈಸೂರಿನ ಬಿಷಪ್ ಪರಮ ಪೂಜ್ಯ ಡಾ. ಮಥಿಯಾಸ್ ಫೆರ್ನಾಂಡಿಸ್ ಅವರು ಆಶೀರ್ವದಿಸಿ ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಿದರು.
ಅಕ್ಟೋಬರ್ 17, 2019 ರಂದು, ಅವರ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಪೋಪ್ ಫ್ರಾನ್ಸಿಸ್ ಇದನ್ನು ಮೈನರ್ ಬೆಸಿಲಿಕಾ ಎಂದು ಘೋಷಿಸಿದಾಗ ಈ ದೇವಾಲಯವು ಅಂತರರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಮನ್ನಣೆಯನ್ನು ಗಳಿಸಿತು – ಇದು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆ ಮತ್ತು ತೀರ್ಥಯಾತ್ರೆಯ ಕೇಂದ್ರವಾಗಿ ಅದರ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿ ತೋರಿಸುವ ಗೌರವ ಮತ್ತು ವಿಶಿಷ್ಟತೆಯ ಬಿರುದು.
ನಂಬಿಕೆ, ಪವಾಡಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಏಕತೆಯ ಈ ಪರಂಪರೆಗೆ ಅನುಗುಣವಾಗಿ, ರೆಕ್ಟರ್ ರೆವರೆಂಡ್ ಫಾದರ್ ಡೇವಿಡ್ ಸಗಯರಾಜ್ ಮತ್ತು ರೆವರೆಂಡ್ ಫಾದರ್. ದೋರ್ನಹಳ್ಳಿಯ ಸಂತ ಅಂತೋನಿ ಬೆಸಿಲಿಕಾದ ಆಡಳಿತಾಧಿಕಾರಿ ಫಾ। ಪ್ರವೀಣ್ ಪೆದ್ರು, ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಭಕ್ತರನ್ನು, ಯಾತ್ರಿಕರನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ಕುಟುಂಬಗಳನ್ನು ಈ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಆಚರಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಲು ಹೃತ್ಪೂರ್ವಕವಾಗಿ ಆಹ್ವಾನಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿದ ಹೃದಯಗಳಿಂದ, ಸಂತ ಅಂತೋನಿಯವರ ಶಾಂತಿ, ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಬಲ ಮಧ್ಯಸ್ಥಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಅನುಭವಿಸಲು ಅವರು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಯಿಂದ ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
Dornahalli Basilica to Celebrate the Grand Annual Feast of St. Anthony on June 13, 2025
Dornahalli, Mysuru: The globally renowned St. Anthony’s Basilica in Dornahalli is preparing to celebrate its Annual Feast of St. Anthony, the Wonder Worker, on Friday, June 13, 2025, with immense devotion and spiritual splendour.
The celebrations will begin on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, with the flag hoisting ceremony at 5:30 PM, led by Most Rev. Dr. Bernard Moras, Archbishop Emeritus and Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Mysore. A Solemn Eucharistic Mass will follow, marking the beginning of the Novena Days.
From June 5 to June 12, daily Novena Masses and Preaching will be held, with English Mass at 7:00 AM and Kannada Masses at 11:00 AM and 5:30 PM. These days will serve as a time of deep reflection and preparation, drawing pilgrims into a spiritual atmosphere of grace and renewal.
The spiritual peak of the celebrations will arrive on Friday, June 13, with a Solemn Festive High Mass in Kannada at 10:00 AM, again presided over by Most Rev. Dr. Bernard Moras. Throughout the day, additional Masses in Kannada, English, and Tamil will be offered, allowing devotees from various regions and linguistic backgrounds to participate and receive the powerful intercession of St. Anthony of Padua.
This beautiful tradition is not just a celebration but a continuation of a powerful spiritual legacy that began over 220 years ago. According to local history, a farmer discovered a wooden statue while ploughing his land in Dornahalli. The statue was soon identified as that of St. Anthony, and many who came in faith began to witness miracles and divine favours. Word spread rapidly, and Dornahalli became a sacred destination for thousands of devotees.
To support this growing devotion, Fr. S. D’Silva, the parish priest at the time, constructed a small shrine in 1920, with the generous support of Shri Thambu Chetty, Dewan of the Mysore Palace, and his brother Shri Dharmaraj Chetty. As the number of pilgrims increased and miraculous experiences multiplied, the need for a larger church was recognised. In 1964, under the leadership of Fr. I. H. Lobo, construction of a new church began. It was blessed and inaugurated on June 13, 1969, by His Excellency Dr. Matthias Fernandez, Bishop of Mysore.
The shrine gained international recognition when, on October 17, 2019, His Holiness Pope Francis declared it a Minor Basilica — a title of honour and distinction that highlights its importance as a centre of prayer and pilgrimage.
