Mangaluru: Annual sports meet 2023, Athena institute of health sciences was organised on 19.01.2023 at Mangala stadium, Mangaluru. The inaugural programme was commenced by invoking God’s blessings through a prayer song at 8.00am with the march past led by the college band followed by the athletes and all the batches of students of Athena institute of health sciences. Mr. R S. Shettian,Chairman, AIHS was the chief guest . Dr. Nandini, Principal of allied courses and Rev. Sr. Aileen Mathias, Vice principal, Athena institute of health sciences, were present for the programme. Mrs. Viola D’Souza, SNA advisor, extended warm welcome to the gathering. Krida jyothi was done by the athletes of the institutions and the torch signified the spirit of true sportsmanship. Mr. R.S.Shettian declared the sports meet 2023 open, followed by oath taking ceremony. The chief guest wished good luck to the participants and students gathering. Principal, Rev. Sr. Deepa Peter, in her speech encouraged the students for their participation. The inaugural programme was came to an end with a vote of thanks proposed by Mrs. Priyanka Dsouza, HOD of Child health nursing department. The students actively participated in all the sports activities. Ms. Martina of 4th year B. SC nursing student compered the programme.
