ಉಡುಪಿ, ಮೇ.19; ಸಂತೆಕಟ್ಟೆ-ಕಲ್ಲಿಯನ್‌ಪುರದ ಮೌಂಟ್ ರೋಸರಿ ಚರ್ಚ್‌ನ ನಿಷ್ಠಾವಂತರು, ಮೇ 19, 2025 ರ ಸೋಮವಾರದ ಪ್ರಶಾಂತ ಸಂಜೆ, ತಮ್ಮ ಹೊಸದಾಗಿ ನೇಮಕಗೊಂಡ ಸಹಾಯಕ ಪ್ಯಾರಿಷ್ ಪಾದ್ರಿ ರೆವರೆಂಡ್ ಫಾದರ್ ರೋಹನ್ ಎಡ್ವರ್ಡ್ ಮಸ್ಕರೆನ್ಹಸ್ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸಂತೋಷ ಮತ್ತು ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆಯಿಂದ ಹೃದಯಪೂರ್ವಕವಾಗಿ ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿದರು.
ಸಂಜೆ 4.50 ಕ್ಕೆ, ಮೌಂಟ್ ರೋಸರಿ ಚರ್ಚ್‌ನ ಮುಖ್ಯ ದ್ವಾರವು ವಿಶೇಷ ಅತಿಥಿಯನ್ನು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು – ಫಾದರ್ ರೋಹನ್, ಅವರ ಪೋಷಕರು ಮತ್ತು ಕೆಲವು ನಿಕಟ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಕರೊಂದಿಗೆ, ಇತ್ತೀಚೆಗೆ ದೀಕ್ಷೆ ಪಡೆದು ಕೃಪೆಯಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿ, ಈ ರೋಮಾಂಚಕ ಧರ್ಮಕೇಂದ್ರದ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯ ಪೋಷಕರಾದ ಅವರ್ ಲೇಡಿ ಆಫ್ ದಿ ಹೋಲಿ ರೋಸರಿಗೆ ಸಮರ್ಪಿತವಾದ ದೇವರ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಪ್ರಯಾಣವನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಲು ಭಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆ ಹಾಕಿದರು.
ಫಾದರ್ ರೋಹನ್ ಅವರನ್ನು ಮೇ 2, 2025 ರಂದು ಅತ್ತೂರು-ಕಾರ್ಕಳದ ಸೇಂಟ್ ಲಾರೆನ್ಸ್ ಮೈನರ್ ಬೆಸಿಲಿಕಾದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಡುಪಿಯ ಬಿಷಪ್ ರೆವರೆಂಡ್ ಫಾದರ್ ಜೆರಾಲ್ಡ್ ಐಸಾಕ್ ಲೋಬೊ ಅವರಿಂದ ದೀಕ್ಷೆ ಪಡೆದರು. ಮರುದಿನ, ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಹುಟ್ಟೂರು ಕೆಲ್ಂಬೆಟ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರೀತಿಪಾತ್ರರ ನಡುವೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಮೊದಲ ಥ್ಯಾಂಕ್ಸ್ಗಿವಿಂಗ್ ಮಾಸ್ ಅನ್ನು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು, ಇದು ಅವರ ಪುರೋಹಿತಶಾಹಿ ಸೇವೆಗೆ ಒಂದು ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದದ ಆರಂಭವನ್ನು ಸೂಚಿಸಿತು.
ಆರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ, ಎತ್ತರದ ಮತ್ತು ವರ್ಚಸ್ವಿ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿತ್ವ, ಸ್ಫಟಿಕ-ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟ ಧ್ವನಿಯಿಂದ ಆಶೀರ್ವದಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಫಾದರ್ ರೋಹನ್ ಅವರು ಪ್ರತಿಭೆಗಳ ಸಂಗ್ರಹ, ಉತ್ಸಾಹ ಮತ್ತು ಯೌವನದ ಶಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊರಸೂಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ನಾವು ಗಮನಿಸಿದಂತೆ, ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಶಾಂತ ಉತ್ಸಾಹವಿದೆ, ಅರಳಲು ಕಾಯುತ್ತಿದೆ – ಮತ್ತು ಈ ದೈವಿಕ ಕರೆಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಲು ಮೌಂಟ್ ರೋಸರಿಯ ಸದಾ ಸಂತೋಷದಾಯಕ ಮತ್ತು ಆಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮಿಕವಾಗಿ ಶ್ರೀಮಂತ ಸಮುದಾಯಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಉತ್ತಮವಾದ ಸ್ಥಳವಾಗಿದೆ

ಮಿಲಾಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಕ್ಯಾಥೆಡ್ರಲ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸಹಾಯಕ ಪ್ಯಾರಿಷ್ ರೆವರೆಂಡ್ ಫಾದರ್ ಪ್ರದೀಪ್ ಕಾರ್ಡೋಜಾ ಪರಿಚಯಿಸಿದಂತೆ, – ‘ಫಾದರ್ ರೋಹನ್ ಕೆಲ್ಂಬೆಟ್‌ನಿಂದ ಬಂದವರು ಮತ್ತು ರಾಬರ್ಟ್ ಮತ್ತು ಎವೆಲಿನ್ ಫೆರ್ನಾಂಡಿಸ್ ಅವರ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯ ಮಗ. ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಹಿರಿಯ ಸಹೋದರ ರೋಶನ್, ವೃತ್ತಿಪರ ಚಾರ್ಟರ್ಡ್ ಅಕೌಂಟೆಂಟ್ ಅವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಕುಟುಂಬವನ್ನು ಹಂಚಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅವರ ಆರಂಭಿಕ ವರ್ಷಗಳನ್ನು ಕೆಲ್ಂಬೆಟ್‌ನ ಸೇಂಟ್ ಡಾನ್ ಬಾಸ್ಕೋ ಚರ್ಚ್ ಕ್ಯಾಂಪಸ್ ಬಳಿ ಕಳೆದರು, ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಮೊದಲು ಲಿಟಲ್ ಫ್ಲವರ್ ಶಾಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಅವರು ಬೆಳ್ಮಣ್‌ನ ಸೇಂಟ್ ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ಪ್ರೌಢಶಾಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರೌಢಶಾಲಾ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣವನ್ನು ಪೂರ್ಣಗೊಳಿಸಿದರು, ನಂತರ ಐಕಳದ ಪೊಂಪೈ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪಿಯು ಅಧ್ಯಯನವನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ಪುತ್ತೂರಿನ ಸೇಂಟ್ ಫಿಲೋಮಿನಾ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿ.ಕಾಂ ಪದವಿಯನ್ನು ಪಡೆದರು.
ದೈವಿಕ ಕರೆಗೆ ಓಗೊಟ್ಟು, ಫಾದರ್ ರೋಹನ್ 2014 ರಲ್ಲಿ ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಸೇಂಟ್ ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ಸೆಮಿನರಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿದರು, ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ತತ್ವಶಾಸ್ತ್ರವನ್ನು ಪೂರ್ಣಗೊಳಿಸಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ಆರಂಭಿಕ ತರಬೇತಿಯನ್ನು ಪಡೆದರು. ಅವರ ರೀಜೆನ್ಸಿ ಕಲ್ಮಾಡಿಯ ಸ್ಟೆಲ್ಲಾ ಮಾರಿಸ್ ಚರ್ಚ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿತ್ತು, ಮತ್ತು ಅವರು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಿತ ಸೇಂಟ್ ಪೀಟರ್ಸ್ ಪಾಂಟಿಫಿಕಲ್ ಸೆಮಿನರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವತಾಶಾಸ್ತ್ರ ಇತ್ಯಾದಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಅಂತಿಮ ಅಧ್ಯಯನವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದರು. ದೀಕ್ಷೆ ಪಡೆಯುವ ಮೊದಲು, ಅವರು ಶಂಕರಪುರದ ಸೇಂಟ್ ಜಾನ್ ದಿ ಇವಾಂಜೆಲಿಸ್ಟ್ ಚರ್ಚ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಡಯಾಕನೇಟ್ ಸೇವೆಯನ್ನು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು.
ಹೃತ್ಪೂರ್ವಕ ಸ್ವಾಗತ ಸಮಾರಂಭ:
ಪ್ಯಾರಿಷ್ ಪಾದ್ರಿ ರೆವರೆಂಡ್ ಡಾ. ರೋಕ್ ಡಿ’ಸೋಜಾ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಚರ್ಚ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಸಂಕ್ಷಿಪ್ತ ಆದರೆ ಅರ್ಥಪೂರ್ಣ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನಾ ಅಧಿವೇಶನದ ನಂತರ ಫಾದರ್ ರೋಹನ್ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸಭೆಗೆ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯಿಂದ ಪರಿಚಯಿಸಿದರು. ಅವರು ಪವಿತ್ರ ರೋಸರಿಯ ನಮ್ಮ ಮಹಿಳೆಯ ಕೋಮಲ ಮತ್ತು ರಕ್ಷಣಾತ್ಮಕ ಮಧ್ಯಸ್ಥಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಕೋರಿದರು, ಯುವ ಪಾದ್ರಿಯು ಪ್ಯಾರಿಷ್‌ನ ಪ್ರೀತಿ, ಬೆಂಬಲ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಖಚಿತಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರು.
ಸಂಜೆ ಪೂರ್ವ ಮಳೆಯ ಲಕ್ಷಣಗಳು ಕಂಡುಬಂದರೂ, ಪ್ಯಾರಿಷ್ ಪ್ಯಾಸ್ಟೋರಲ್ ಕೌನ್ಸಿಲ್ ಸದಸ್ಯರು, ಸುಪೀರಿಯರ್ ಮತ್ತು ಎಸ್‌ಆರ್‌ಎ ಕಾನ್ವೆಂಟ್‌ನ ಸಹೋದರಿಯರು, ಗುರ್ಕರ್‌ಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ಯಾರಿಷಿಯನ್ನರ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಸಭೆಯ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತಿಯು ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಯಿತು, ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಹೊಸ ಕುರುಬನನ್ನು ತೆರೆದ ತೋಳುಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ನಗುತ್ತಿರುವ ಮುಖಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಲು ಉತ್ಸುಕರಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಪಿಪಿಸಿ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಪ್ರಿಯಾ ಫುರ್ಟಾಡೊ ಅವರು ಕಿರು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಸೂಕ್ತವಾಗಿ ನಿರೂಪಿಸಿದರು, ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಲ್ಯೂಕ್ ಡಿಸೋಜಾ ಧನ್ಯವಾದಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದರು.
ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಕೆಲ್ಂಬೆಟ್ ನ ವಿಕಾರ್ ರೆವರೆಂಡ್ ಫಾದರ್ ಅರವಿಂದ್ ವಿ ಸೆವೆರ್ಸ್ ಅವರ ಸಂಕ್ಷಿಪ್ತ ಶುಭಾಶಯಗಳು ಖಂಡಿತವಾಗಿಯೂ ಸ್ಪರ್ಶಿಸಿದವು – ‘ನಮ್ಮ ಪ್ಯಾರಿಷ್ ಚಿಕ್ಕದಾಗಿದೆ, 125 ಕುಟುಂಬಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ 60 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಇತಿಹಾಸವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದೆ ಆದರೆ ಇದು 31 ಪಾದ್ರಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಸುಮಾರು 15+ ಸನ್ಯಾಸಿಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ವೃತ್ತಿಗಳ ತೊಟ್ಟಿಲು… ಮತ್ತು ನನ್ನ ಎರಡು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ವಿಕಾರ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಫಾದರ್ ರೋಹನ್ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂರು ಉತ್ತಮ ಗುಣಗಳನ್ನು ಕಂಡುಕೊಂಡರು – ಸರಳತೆ, ವಿನಮ್ರತೆ, ಭಕ್ತಿ ಅಥವಾ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ ಖಂಡಿತವಾಗಿಯೂ ಅವರನ್ನು ಅವರ ಸೇವೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಜವಾದ ಮತ್ತು ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ…’ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಸೈಲೇಷಿಯನ್ ಪಾದ್ರಿಗಳ ಪರವಾಗಿ ಫಾದರ್ ರೋಹನ್ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಕೆಲ್ಂಬೆಟ್ ನ ಪ್ರಿನ್ಸಿಪಾಲ್ ಫಾದರ್ ಮಿಲ್ಟನ್ ಮತ್ತು ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸಕ ಫಾದರ್ ರೋಯನ್ ಅವರ ಪರವಾಗಿ ಶುಭ ಹಾರೈಸಿದರು
675 ಕುಟುಂಬಗಳ ಮೌಂಟ್ ರೋಸರಿ ಪ್ಯಾರಿಷ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಹಾಯಕ ವಿಕಾರ್ ಆಗಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಮೊದಲ ಭಾಷಣದಲ್ಲಿ, ಫಾದರ್ ರೋಹನ್ ಮಸ್ಕರೆನ್ಹಾಸ್ ವಿಕಾರ್ ಮತ್ತು ಪೋಷಕ ಅವರ್ ಲೇಡಿ ಆಫ್ ಹೋಲಿ ರೋಸರಿಯ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನದಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವರು ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ಯಾರಿಷಿಯನ್ನರ ಸೇವೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮವಾದದ್ದನ್ನು ಮಾಡುತೇನೆ ಎಂದು ಭರವಸೆ ನೀಡಿದರು
ನಂಬಿಕೆ, ಪ್ರೀತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಭರವಸೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ, ಮೌಂಟ್ ರೋಸರಿ ಪ್ಯಾರಿಷನರ್‌ಗಳು ಈ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಚರ್ಚ್ ಮತ್ತು ಅದರ ರೋಮಾಂಚಕ ಸಮುದಾಯವು ಫಾದರ್‌ಗೆ ಪೋಷಣೆಯ ನೆಲವಾಗಲಿ ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ರೋಹನ್ ಅವರ ಪುರೋಹಿತಶಾಹಿ ಪ್ರಯಾಣ, ಮತ್ತು ಅವರ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇವೆಯು ಅನುಗ್ರಹ, ಬುದ್ಧಿವಂತಿಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಹೇರಳವಾದ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದಗಳಿಂದ ಗುರುತಿಸಲ್ಪಡಲಿ, ಕಿರು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ‘ಸೋಮ್ಯಾಕ್ ದಿನ್ವಾಸುಯನ್’ ಮತ್ತು ಮರಿಯನ್ ಸ್ತೋತ್ರ ‘ತು ಕಲ್ಜಾಯ ಗೊಂಡ್ಯಾ ಮೋಜ್ಯಾ…’ ದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಗಾಯಕರ ತಂಡದ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಕ್ತಾಯವಾಯಿತು.
ಫಾದರ್ ರೋಹನ್, ಸ್ವಾಗತ! ಅವರ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಿತೋಟದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಹೆಜ್ಜೆಯೂ ಹೇರಳವಾಗಿ ಫಲ ನೀಡಲಿ.
A Joyous Welcome to Rev. Fr Rohan Edward Muscarenhas at Mount Rosary Church
With hearts full of joy and gratitude, the faithful of Mount Rosary Church, Santhekatte-Kallianpur, extended a warm and homely welcome to their newly appointed Assistant Parish Priest, Rev. Fr Rohan Edward Muscarenhas, on the serene evening of Monday, 19th May 2025.
Precisely at 4.50 p.m., the main gate of Mount Rosary Church opened to receive a special guest — Fr Rohan, accompanied with his parents and few close relatives, the recently ordained and filled with grace, stepped in with reverence to begin his sacred journey in the house of God dedicated to Our Lady of the Holy Rosary, the beloved patroness of this vibrant parish.
Fr Rohan was ordained on 2nd May 2025 by the Bishop of Udupi, Rt Rev Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, at the St. Lawrence Minor Basilica, Attur-Karkala. The following day, he offered his First Thanksgiving Mass amidst his loved ones in his hometown of Kelmbet, marking a blessed beginning to his priestly ministry.
At the very outset, a tall and charismatic personality, blessed with a crystal-clear voice, Fr Rohan is a bundle of talents, radiating zeal and youthful energy. As we noticed, there is a quiet passion in him, waiting to bloom — and what better place to begin this divine calling than the ever-joyful and spiritually rich community of Mount Rosary.
A Glimpse into His Roots and Formation:
As Rev Fr Pradeep Cardoza, the Assistant Parish in the Milagres Cathedral introduced, – ‘Fr Rohan hails from Kelmbet and is the beloved son of Robert and Evelyn Fernandes. He shares his family with his elder brother Roshan, a professional Chartered Accountant. His early years were spent near the St Don Bosco Church campus, Kelmbet where he first studied at Little Flower School. He completed his high school education at St Joseph’s High School, Belman, followed by his PU studies at Pompei College, Aikala, and a B.Com degree from St Philomena College, Puttur.’
Answering the divine call, Fr Rohan joined St Joseph’s Seminary, Mangalore, in 2014, where he completed philosophy and underwent early formation. His regency was at Stella Maris Church, Kalmady, and he pursued his final studies in Theology etc at the prestigious St Peter’s Pontifical Seminary, Bangalore. Before ordination, he served his diaconate ministry at St John the Evangelist Church, Shankerpura.
A Heartfelt Welcome Ceremony:
Following a brief but meaningful prayer session at the church led by Parish Priest Rev Dr Roque D’Souza warmly introduced Fr Rohan to the congregation. He invoked the tender and protective intercession of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary, assuring the young priest of the parish’s love, support, and prayers.
Though the evening had threatening signs of pre monsoon showers, the event witnessed the gracious presence of Parish Pastoral Council members, Superior and sisters of the SRA Convent, Gurkars, and a fairly large gathering of parishioners, all eager to welcome their new shepherd with open arms and smiling faces. Priya Furtado, Secretary PPC aptly anchored the short programme whereas Vice President Luke DSouza proposed vote of thanks.
What touched the event certainly the brief best wishes by the Vicar of Kelmbet Rev Fr Arvind V Severes, SDB of St Don Bosco Church – ‘our parish is small, have though 60 years history with 125 families but it’s the cradle of vocations with 31 priests and about 15+ nuns…and in my two years of as vicar found three great qualities in Fr Rohan – Simplicity, humbleness, devotion or a man of prayers definitely will make him a true and successful in his ministry…’ he opined and wished Fr Rohan all the very best on behalf of Silesian priests Principal Fr Milton and Lecturer Fr Royan from Kelmbet…
In his first address as Assistant Vicar in Mount Rosary Parish of 675 families, Fr Rohan Muscarenhas assured his best in the service of God and parishioners, under the guidance of Vicar and Patroness Our Lady of Holy Rosary…
With faith, love, and hope, the Mount Rosary parishioners pray that this sacred church and its vibrant community become a nurturing ground for Fr Rohan’s priestly journey, and that his ministry here be marked with grace, wisdom, and abundant blessings, as the short programme was come to a close with ‘somyak dinvasuyan’ and Marian hymn ‘Tu Kallzaya Gondya Mojya…’led by the Choir team.
