ಕುಂದಾಪುರ: ರಾಜಸ್ಥಾನದ ಆಜ್ಮೀರ್ ಧರ್ಮಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯದ ನೂತನ ಧರ್ಮಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾಗಿ ಅಧಿಕಾರ ವಹಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಕುಂದಾಪುರ ತಾಲೂಕಿನ ಬಸ್ರೂರು ಸಂತ ಫಿಲಿಪ್ ನೆರಿ ಧರ್ಮಕೇಂದ್ರದ ವಂ|ಡಾ|ಜೋನ್ ಕರ್ವಾಲ್ಲೊ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಹುಟ್ಟೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸೋಮವಾರ ಪ್ರಥಮ ಕೃತಜ್ಞಾತಾ ಬಲಿಪೂಜೆ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದರು.
ಧಾರಾಕಾರ ಮಳೆಯ ನಡುವೆಯೂ ಸಹ ಉಡುಪಿ ಧರ್ಮಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯದ ಧರ್ಮಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಅತಿ ವಂ|ಡಾ|ಜೆರಾಲ್ಡ್ ಐಸಾಕ್ ಲೋಬೊ, ಬಳ್ಳಾರಿ ಧರ್ಮಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಅತಿ ವಂ|ಡಾ| ಹೆನ್ರಿ ಡಿಸೋಜಾ, ಜೈಪುರ್ ಧರ್ಮಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯದ ನಿವೃತ್ತ ಧರ್ಮಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಅತಿ ವಂ|ಡಾ| ಓಸ್ವಲ್ಡ್ ಜೆ ಲೂವಿಸ್, ಕಾರವಾರ ಧರ್ಮಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಅತಿ ವಂ|ಡಾ|ದುಮಿಂಗ್ ಡಯಾಸ್, ಹಲವಾರು ಧರ್ಮಗುರುಗಳು, ಧರ್ಮಭಗಿನಿಯರು ಹಾಗೂ ನೂರಾರು ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ ಭಕ್ತಾದಿಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕೃತಜ್ಞಾತಾ ಬಲಿಪೂಜೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಧನ್ಯವಾದ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು.
ಬಳಿಕ ನಡೆದ ಸಭಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ನೂತನ ಧರ್ಮಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ವಂ|ಡಾ|ಜೋನ್ ಕರ್ವಾಲ್ಲೊ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಬಸ್ರೂರು ಸಂತ ಫಿಲಿಪ್ ನೆರಿ ಧರ್ಮಕೇಂದ್ರದ ವತಿಯಿಂದ, ಧರ್ಮಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರು ಕಲಿತ ನಿವೇದಿತಾ ಶಾಲೆಯ ಅಧ್ಯಾಪಕ ವೃಂದದವರಿಂದ ಗೌರವಾರ್ಪಣೆ ನೆರವೇರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ಈ ವೇಳೆ ಅಭಿನಂದಾನಾ ನುಡಿಗಳನ್ನಾಡಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಉಡುಪಿ ಧರ್ಮಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯದ ಧರ್ಮಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಅತಿ ವಂ|ಡಾ|ಜೆರಾಲ್ಡ್ ಐಸಾಕ್ ಲೋಬೊ ಧರ್ಮಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರ ಹುದ್ದೆ ಎನ್ನುವುದು ಹೂವಿನ ಹಾಸಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಅದು ದೇವರೇ ದಯಪಾಲಿಸಿದ ಮಹತ್ತರವಾದ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಯೇಸು ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ಹೊತ್ತೊಯ್ದ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಶಿಲುಬೆಯನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಧರ್ಮಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯದ ಅಧೀನದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಭಕ್ತಾದಿಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಹೊತ್ತೊಯ್ದು ಉತ್ತಮ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನ ನೀಡುವ ವಿಶೇಷ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿ ಒರ್ವ ಧರ್ಮಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರದ್ದಾಗಿದೆ. ಉಡುಪಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಬಸ್ರೂರು ಎಂಬ ಪುಟ್ಟ ಊರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಜನಿಸಿ ದೂರದ ಆಜ್ಮೀರ್ ಧರ್ಮಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯದ ಧರ್ಮಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾಗಿರುವುದು ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬರಿಗೂ ಅಭಿಮಾನದ ಸಂಗತಿಯಾಗಿದೆ.
ಗೌರವ ಎಷ್ಟು ಉನ್ನತವಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ಅದರ ಭಾರವೂ ಕೂಡ ಅದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಧರ್ಮಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರ ದೀಕ್ಷೆಯಿಂದಾಗಿ ಅವರು ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಯಾಜಕತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಭಾಗಿದಾರರಾಗುತ್ತಾರೆ ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲ ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಬಲಿದಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಪೂರ್ಣತ್ವ ಹೊಂದುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಯೇಸು ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ಮನುಕುಲದ ಉದ್ದಾರಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಹೇಗೆ ತನ್ನನ್ನೇ ತಾನು ಶಿಲುಬೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರೋ ಅಂತೆಯೇ ಒರ್ವ ಧರ್ಮಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರು ತನ್ನ ಅನುಯಾಯಿಗಳ ಏಳಿಗೆಗೆ ಸಮರ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕಾಗಿದೆ. ಜೊತೆಯಾಗಿ ಸಾಗುವ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಸಭೆಯನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಲು ಯೇಸು ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಅಭಿಷಿಕ್ತಗೊಳಿಸಿದ್ದು ತಮ್ಮ ಅಧೀನದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಆಜ್ಮೀರ್ ಧರ್ಮಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯದ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬರಿಗೂ ಉತ್ತಮ ಸೇವೆ ಲಭ್ಯವಾಗಲಿ ಎಂದು ಶುಭಹಾರೈಸಿದರು.
ಹುಟ್ಟೂರಿನ ಗೌರವ ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ನೂತನ ಧರ್ಮಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ವಂ|ಡಾ|ಜೋನ್ ಕರ್ವಾಲ್ಲೊ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಯಶಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ಕಾರಣಿಕರ್ತರಾದ ಸರ್ವರಿಗೂ ಅಭಿನಂದನೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು.
ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಜೈಪುರ್ ಧರ್ಮಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯದ ನಿವೃತ್ತ ಧರ್ಮಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಅತಿ ವಂ|ಡಾ| ಓಸ್ವಲ್ಡ್ ಜೆ ಲೂವಿಸ್, ಜೈಪುರ ಧರ್ಮಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯದ ವಿಕಾರ್ ಜನರಲ್ ಮೊನ್ಸಿಂಜ್ಞೊರ್ ಎಡ್ವರ್ಡ್ ಒಲಿವೇರಾ ಶುಭ ಹಾರೈಸಿದರು.
ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಂದಾಪುರ ವಲಯದ ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಧರ್ಮಗುರು ವಂ|ಪಾವ್ಲ್ ರೇಗೊ, ಆಜ್ಮೀರ್ ಧರ್ಮಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯದ ಧರ್ಮಗುರುಗಳ ಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿ ವಂ|ಕ್ಲೇಮಂಟ್ ಕುಟಿನ್ಹೊ, ಬೆಥನಿ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಮದರ್ ಜನರ್ ಸಿಸ್ಟರ್ ರೋಸ್ ಸೆಲಿನ್, ಧರ್ಮಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ವಂ|ಡಾ|ಜೋನ್ ಕರ್ವಾಲ್ಲೊ ಅವರ ತಾಯಿ ಮಾರ್ಗ ರೇಟ್ ಕರ್ವಾಲ್ಲೊ, ಸಹೋದರಿ ಸಿಸ್ಟರ್ ಪ್ರೇಮಾ ಕರ್ವಾಲ್ಲೊ, ಬಸ್ರೂರು ಫಿಲಿಪ್ ನೆರಿ ಚರ್ಚಿನ ಪಾಲನಾ ಮಂಡಳಿಯ ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಜಸಿಂತಾ ಮೆಂಡೊನ್ಸಾ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.

Basrur; New Ajmer Diocese Bishop V. Rev. Dr. John Carvalho receives hometown honors, thanksgiving mass

Kundapur: After assuming office as the new Ajmer Diocese Bishop V. Rev. Dr. John Carvalho of Basrur Saint Philip Neri Diocese in Kundapur taluk, he offered his first thanksgiving mass in his hometown on Monday.
Despite the heavy rain, Udupi Diocese Bishop V. Rev. Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo, Bellary Diocese Bishop V. Rev. Dr| Henry D’Souza, Jaipur Diocese Retired Bishop V. Rev. Dr. Oswald J. Lewis, Karwar Archbishop V. Rev. Dr. Duming Dias, several priests, nuns and hundreds of devotees participated in the thanksgiving service and thanked God.
Later, in the assembly program, the new Archbishop, V. Rev. Dr. John Carvalho, was honored by the faculty of the Nivedita School, where the Archbishop studied, on behalf of the Basrur Saint Philip Neri Seminary.
Speaking on the occasion, V. Rev. Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo, Archbishop of the Diocese of Udupi, said that the post of Archbishop is not a bed of flowers but a great responsibility bestowed by God. A bishop has the special responsibility of carrying the Holy Cross carried by Jesus along with the devotees under his diocese and providing good guidance. It is a matter of pride for everyone to be the bishop of the remote Ajmer diocese, born in a small town called Basrur in Udupi district.
No matter how high the honor, its weight is also greater. Due to the ordination of the bishop, he not only becomes a full participant in the priesthood of Jesus but also becomes complete in the sacrifice of Jesus. Just as Jesus offered himself on the cross for the salvation of mankind, a bishop should dedicate himself to the progress of his followers. He wished everyone under his jurisdiction, who has been anointed by Jesus to build a holy congregation that moves forward together, good service will be available to everyone in the Ajmer diocese.
The new Bishop, V. Rev. Dr| John Carvalho, who accepted the honor of his hometown, congratulated all those who contributed to the success of the program.
The retired Bishop of Jaipur Diocese, V. Rev. Dr. Oswald J Lewis, and the Vicar General of Jaipur Diocese, Monsignor Edward Oliveira, wished him well.
The program was attended by the Archbishop of Kundapur, V. Rev. Fr. Paul Rego, the representative of the clergy of Ajmer Diocese, V. Rev. Clement Coutinho, the Mother General of Bethany Society, Sister Rose Celine, the mother of Bishop V. Rev. Dr. John Carvalho, Margaret Carvalho, his sister Sister Prema Carvalho, and Jacinta Mendonsa, the Vice President of the Board of Trustees of Philip Neri Church, Basrur.
Rev. Roy Lobo welcomed the gathering and Lawrence Barretto, the coordinator of the commissions, expressed his gratitude. Rev. Ashwin Aranha compered the program.
